Your Dominican Republic Sample Itinerary

The Dominican Republic is a natural wonder with its many national parks, waterfalls and 1,000 miles of coastline. You will have a bit of everything to enjoy– great weather, things to do, resorts, beaches, etc. Feel free to change up the below sequence of activities.

Catch an early flight to Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and make your way to your private ground transportation that will take you to your 4-diamond-ranked all-inclusive resort. Enjoy the afternoon exploring your resort and getting settled. End the night with a leisurely dinner and drink at one of the resort’s included restaurants.

After an early breakfast at the resort, it’s time to explore off property! Take a day trip to Santo Domingo, the country’s capital, to see great architecture, see where the “new world” began with Christopher Columbus, even wander down the first paved road. The country’s first cathedral and customs house will be a splendor. Upon return, grab some quick pool time before getting ready for dinner and some evening entertainment

Today is all about relaxation! Plan for a leisurely morning with a relaxed sit-down breakfast. Then, for the remainder of the day, lounge in a cabana on the beach with butler service. In the evening, after dinner, be sure to catch some of your resort’s included entertainment and dance the night away.

Grab your breakfast to-go and hit the road! Take a day trip to Puerto Plata and see Damajagua Falls, otherwise known as the 27 waterfalls. Discovered in the 1990s, the area has grown to be a fun off-the-beaten path experience. Spend the day jumping and sliding off the falls and relaxing in the natural pools. After returning to the resort, spend some time relaxing by the pool, visiting the spa or enjoying some daytime entertainment. Grab an early dinner because tomorrow you’ll have another early start.

You’ll be spending another day off-site, so grab an early sit-down breakfast, if time allows, or grab something and go! Divers can enjoy a day in the calm water with mild temperatures as they encounter colorful marine life, explore shipwrecks, and even try wall dives along coral reefs near Saona and Catalina islands. For those that want something a little milder, consider a snorkeling excursion to some of those same reefs. Spend your afternoon relaxing at your resort before heading to a late dinner. If you’re feeling up for it, grab a late-night cocktail at one of the many lounges.

Start the day early with breakfast then some time on one of the country’s top-rated golf courses. Punta Cana alone has about 10 courses from which to choose. Experienced golfers will enjoy the course, and beginners can snag a lesson. Enjoy the afternoon on the beach with butler service today before dinner and entertainment at your resort.

Relax with a leisurely breakfast before you head to the airport for your flight home. Please remember to allow plenty of time for traffic, baggage check and security lines.
