We are so excited about this one! We fell in love with the Polynesian Village Resort during a 2018 trip to Walt Disney World resort. We went over to Ohana for breakfast. The relaxed vibe and tropical oasis instantly stirred something up in us that we had to experience staying there. Before we were even finished with breakfast, I was on the phone booking our next trip! In May of 2019, we experienced our first stay here. We loved it so much that we became Disney Vacation Club members with the Polynesian as our home resort. Here are some of our photos from that trip.

Here’s a glance at a little bit of the old rooms. I didn’t take a lot of pictures, but I believe there was a pull-out for the 2nd bed. I didn’t have any problem with the way the old rooms were designed but the new rooms are gorgeous. In my opinion at least. I have seen several people are like the old style a little better because it was a break from the over the top Disney theming; but I think the subtle touches of Moana are not over the top and stick with the overall Polynesian vibe of the resort.

Absolutely looovve the bathroom. It has a very luxury feel which you would expect to see in a Deluxe resort. It’s a huge upgrade from before.

So glad they did away with the carpet as well, the herringbone design on the floor is beautiful.

The Moana artwork on the wall is very tasteful and not overwhelming.

Absolutely love that Hay Hay is by the coffee station. Very nice detail and kind of amusing.

So it appears that the couch here will become a twin size sleeper. The Poly rooms are larger than most studio rooms and sleep 5 people. These twin sleepers are much more comfortable than the pull out sofas and save space as well.

We also know that the front of the hotel and The Great Ceremonial House and Monorail Station will also get a facelift.

Stay tuned for more updates as the refurbishment continues.

Have you stayed here? Are you excited about the new look?
