Disney Cruise Line Introduces DisneyBand+ Wearable Technology

Within the past few months, the MagicBand+ technology was introduced for Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort and soon, the technology will come to Disney Cruise Line. It will be called DisneyBand+.

According to Disney, DisneyBand+ will allow guests to unlock their stateroom door or charge to the payment card on file for their stateroom. Guests can also tap their band to link their photos to their stateroom so they can easily view and purchase photos.

Guests ages 3 and up can also use their bands instead of the Oceaneer Club Band to access kids’ clubs while onboard and while visiting Scuttle’s Cove at Castaway Cay.

As with the existing MagicBand and MagicBand+, they will be waterproof. Disney mentions that the DisneyBand+ will unlock “enchanting surprises” throughout the cruise. It is rechargeable just as the other MagicBand+ bands are.

It is important to note that the DisneyBand+ is optional and is not included in your cruise fare. We don’t have an official release date for when DisneyBand+ will be available for purchase; however, there will be previews of the DisneyBand+ aboard Disney Wish sailings this summer before it officially debuts.

We are actually sailing on the Disney Wish in May and our fingers are crossed that we would get to try it out for you!
