It only took one visit to Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter (WWOHP) for us to fall under its spell. We’ve highlighted seven tips to help you make the most of your visit to this Universal land.

1. Show Up Early

If you are staying at a Universal Hotel, you have the advantage of getting into WWOHP an hour before other guests. If you are not staying on property, I would still try to arrive early so you can be at the front of the line when the park opens to minimize waiting and maximize memories!

2. Prioritize Your Must-Dos

WWOHP is split between two parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, with rides, shows, shops and snacks to please Harry Potter fans from around the globe. Depending on the time and season of your visit, you may not be able to experience every aspect of WWOHP in one day. Before you visit, set aside time to prioritize your group’s must-do attractions and visit them first! While any day as WWOHP is a good day, we encourage our guests to take this step to ensure maximum fun and satisfaction during their visit.

3. Save Room for Butter Beer

Did you even visit WWOHP if you don’t post a picture with Butter Beer? We think not. A staple of the park, Butter Beer is available cold, frozen, hot and in ice cream, fudge and potted cream form. (Pro tip: try them all!)

For muggle’s who don’t enjoy this delicacy, check out Honeydukes or Hogshead for some Harry Potter-themed treats.

4. Download the App

The free Universal Orlando Resort app is available on Apple and Google Play. Be sure to download it before your trip to use the Virtual Line Pass feature for select attractions. Probably the most popular attraction right now is Hagrid’s Motor Bike Adventure and it utilizes the Virtual Line pass during busier times. It’s the BEST ride and you won’t want to miss it! The app can also help you check ride wait times, show times and select the best places to eat and shop while at the park.

5. Visit Diagon Alley

Diagon Alley is located inside Universal Studios and is packed full of fun features your group will love. Be sure to check out the phone booth and dial 62442 (MAGIC) to receive a special message from the Ministry of Magic, visit the Knight Bus and interact with the shrunken skull and grab your wand at Ollivanders to cast spells with interactive features around the park.

6. Don't forget Hogsmeade Village

Located inside the Universal Islands of Adventure, Hogsmeade is home to the Hogwarts Castle, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. You’ll be transported to your favorite scenes as you explore the hallways of Hogwarts, snack on chocolate frogs and hop on the Hogwarts Express to Diagon Alley.

7. Schedule your Next Visit

The final ingredient to the perfect WWOHP visit is knowing that you’ll return. If you’re like us, you can’t get enough of this Universal themed land and will want to schedule another visit in the future. We can help! Schedule a consultation today, and be sure to check out our video footage from our WWOHP visit here.
